The Fillet King Modular System is based on a 2 piece construction concept. The Grate allows slime and mess to fall through the grate into a Collection Tray. The grate has a series of squares with sharp edges that grip the fish allowing the person to control the fish during the entire filleting process. There are a total of 1440 gripping edges on the Grate. We claim ABSOLUTE CONTROL of the fish using simple physics of gravity and friction. The squares of the grate are sharp edges (known as the simple machine term "wedge"). Fish scales all grow in one direction. When a fish is on the grate gravity pulls it down and the scales push against the wedges of the squares and are held in place by friction. Any little hand pressure increases the effect of gravity and friction keeping the fish under absolute control. The effect is dramatized by our picture of a walleye being held at 70 degrees without any additional pressure on our title page. Rubber bumpers on the Collection Tray keep it from moving during the filleting process securing it to the surface the board is placed on.
Our claim of NO MESS means no newspaper or other controlling measures to keep the filleting area clean during your filleting. This often means being able to fillet in more favorable areas because there is simply no mess to contend with during the process. There is nothing to dispose of except the fish carcass while filleting.
The Grate surface remains clean fish after fish so that the person doing the filleting does not have to alter his/her style from beginning to end of the process. The system is modular because each board can attach to another with a patented joiner system. Thus the size of the filleting surface can be increased as needed for the type and size of fish to be filleted. The system may be expanded as required with the addition of more boards and joiners. The boards are transported in an appropriate size carry case.
